One of our Tasmanian consultants, Donna Lucas, attended the International Farm Management Association (IFMA) 20th Congress in Quebec City, Canada, in July 2015. She presented an applied paper on landholder engagement, using examples from our extension projects including the ‘Tas Farming Futures’ project which is supporting Tasmanian farmers to reduce emissions.
The IFMA20 Congress included three days of scientific presentations and two full day field trips, with visits to local farms and agribusiness, as well as research and education facilities. Donna particularly enjoyed the field trips and learning more about agriculture and farm management in Canada, as well as the opportunity to share and exchange ideas with producers, consultants, policy-makers and researchers from around the world.
