The G21 region is comprised of the municipalities of Geelong, Queenscliff, Surf Coast, Golden Plains and Colac Otway. The region is Victoria’s largest regional economy and one of Australia’s largest centres of agribusiness. RMCG was engaged by the City of Greater Geelong to prepare a Sustainable Agribusiness Strategy for the G21 Region from 2017-2022.
The objective of the strategy was to provide a framework that will guide both government and private sector investment decisions on how best to assist ongoing growth and development of the agribusiness sector.
RMCG’s approach was supported by five key project stages, starting with the ‘Now’, collating a strong evidence base of the existing industry, the ‘Where’, defining a shared vision of the future, and the ‘How’, developing a strategy and action plan. A total of 44 organisations actively involved in agribusiness and government in the G21 region were consulted to validate the common goals and strategic priorities.
