Victorian Sustainability Accord Stakeholder Interviews and Analysis

Department of Sustainability and Environment (VIC)

RMCG were engaged to evaluation the Victorian Local Sustainability Accord (the Accord), to assess the achievements of the Accord and implications for the proposed next phase. RMCG engaged with all 79 Victorian councils, uncovering their relationships, capacity and outcomes of the Accord, and the current and emerging environmental sustainability and climate change priorities of individual councils and the local government sector as a whole.

Throughout the project we engaged 165 Councillors and Senior Executives from across regional and metropolitan Victoria during 30 meetings. Our approach was to use semi-structured interviews to enable exploration of key concepts. Once the analysis was complete we prepared a report that was used to inform the development and implementation of the next phase of the Accord, the Victorian Adaptation and Sustainability Partnership.
