Rural Land Use Planning

RMCG brings its depth of skills in strategic planning and community engagement and facilitation and its understanding of agriculture, rural industries, natural resource management, regional communities and demography to rural land use planning, both as a lead consultant and in partnership with planning specialists.

Currently, RMCG is working with the South Gippsland Shire on its rural strategy and recently undertook the following land use planning strategies on its own or as lead consultant: Colac Otway Rural Land Strategy, Surf Coast Shire Rural Strategy Review, Alpine Shire land capability and rural zones review.

RMCG partnered with Parsons Brinckerhoff on the following land use planning strategies: Regional Rural Land Use Strategy - Campaspe, Greater Shepparton, Moira, Greater Geelong Rural Strategy.

These land use planning skills have been recently applied to the North Central Biolinks: Approaches and Principles project for the City of Greater Bendigo and Campaspe Shire and to Gannawarra Shire looking at land use and planning policy options for new dryland areas following sale of permanent water entitlements.
