Climate Change
Climate change is a major challenge for communities and businesses across rural and regional Victoria. RMCG has built on its traditional expertise in working with farmers and agencies to develop expertise on carbon emission trends, possible effects and how to mitigate their impact on business viability.
All of our work is informed by a recognition of the future impacts of climate change. We take account of these impacts when:

•assessing current and probable future impacts on clients and their objectives;

•developing adaptation strategies to mitigate those impacts;

•developing tools to help clients reduce their carbon footprint; and
-
•helping clients manage in an uncertain regulatory environment.

We have a growing reputation and skill base in these areas at:

•a strategic level - through prior work on the Garnaut report and proposed Carbon Pollution Reduction

Scheme;

•an industry level - through our work with the Birchip Cropping Group to model the impacts of climate change

scenarios and adaptation options on the viability of typical cropping properties; and

•a practical level - e.g. through our work with the Building Commission to develop a tool kit for the

construction sector to audit its carbon emissions.
